    $ 15.00 for registration ????
I am coming from Hong Kong for this rally, it would be nice to have a little more direct communication link than what is available on the web site. As well, I’ll drop an easy $100 for the charities, you should make it known that you can “donate” whatever you feel like and make it known how to accomplish this….
Where I live you can spend $15 on 1 beer !!!! no problem…

Is there a helmet law in Mexico?

    Reply

everything I have read says that Sonora Mexico requires helmets. Whether the law will be enforced with thousands of gringo riders next weekend is the big question.

Mark, I have asked this question about a helmet law many times this year. Apparently they must have one but never in my 10 years of attending without one have I ever been stopped for the violation. In fact this is the first year I have even seen the question or anything online about it existing. Think I will ride from the border to RP with one but not wear it in RP as safety in numbers. There are always cops who try to make some money from you. Be sure not to bring a weapon or knife of any kind. They are serious about that.

Be sure to have a certified copy of your birth certificate and photo ID as a back-up plan for heading back North. Safe travels

Hi does the rocky point rally have a list of preferred hotels where people can stay that are
sanctioned or approved by the rally committee, I would think that as many people that
come to this event every year that people who are registered should be able to get
good deals on condos on the beach. please publish names of facilities and POC NUMBERS.

Even though I have a TWTR account I can’t log in to your message board. Says “authentication failed.”
Don’t use Facebook and have no idea what the “W” is. Tried it but see not way to set up an account t there either. Suspect many are running into this problem as replies are far and mostly dated.
How can I log in or can you set something up using email and a password?

I see campers and RV’s in the pics but, there is no information that I can find about this. My husband and I would be coming from Texas and will need some where to put our RV. Are there spots for RV’s and how much are the spots and do you have to be self contained?

Hi Laura – There are a number of RV parks in Peñasco you can check with. The ones closer to activities are Playa Bonita RV Park http://playabonitaresort.com/rv.html as well as Playa de Oro in the Mirador

Unfortunately we won’t be making it will they mail the stuff to us?

      Hi Lily,
Thanks for your note. Sorry to hear you won’t be able to make it. Generally those who pre-register have a particular table to pick up packets once here in Mexico, however we will go back and make a note to send the packets to you once available.

Does anyone know the rules about taking a rental bike into Mexico. I/m flying in from NY and have to rent in Phoenix. The rental place is cool with me taking the bike across the border. As long as I have insurance am I good to go? Any other paperwork, permits, etc? Thanks

    • rprally - October 19, 2016 1:35 am

Bike insurance is required, and of course the other thing is confirming with the rental place which it sounds like you’ve done. Insurance sponsor: http://www.sanborns.com

Hi Nick – as far as in Mexico it should just be proof of insurance, and your rental contract (as at the border I guess they could ask for the registration), well and your license. Remember for returning to the US you need a passport or passport card. Saludos!
